We used:
Kinetic energy: is the energy an object has due to its motion. In the beginning, the kinetic energy of the car is 0 Joules as it increases from the acceleration forward it gains more kinetic energy, but then decreases as the car slows down to 0 Joules again.
Potential Energy: is the energy held within an object that will transfer into kinetic energy when it is put into motion. The cars potential energy was greatest at the beginning of the track but loses the potential energy as it goes because it turns it all into kinetic energy.
Thermal Energy: is the total amount of Kinetic and Potential energy. There is no thermal energy at the start of the track. As the Potential energy and the Kinetic energy decrease their energy to friction and heat, the thermal energy is at its largest at the beginning of the track.
Acceleration: is the increased rate of the speed of a particular object in this case a car. In the beginning of the track, the car accelerated for a little bit. Then it decelerated in a negative acceleration.
Velocity is the speed of the change to the position of an object.
